The south west of Victoria is a beautiful place to live, experience and explore. A treasure trove containing some of the most amazing places. Home to many wonderful and generous people from all walks of life, the community atmosphere is terrific. This is what attracted husband and wife team, Somer and Nadia Toprak, to Warrnambool.
They saw a growing need for comprehensive eye care in the region. There was also an unmet need for variety in Warrnambool, with some people travelling to Melbourne to find a frame that would suit them, be unique and on trend. Somer and Nadia made the decision to open Somer Toprak Optometrist, with a focus on meeting that need and providing excellent full-scope patient-focused eye care. Somer Toprak Optometrist was established in August 2012. The practice is independently owned and operated, allowing for much greater scope in providing personalised care.
They chose Kepler street as their location, with easy to access facilities and plenty of parking. An important part of the design brief was to provide a fresh and fun atmosphere, comfortable for both the very young and the young at heart.
Somer Toprak brings many years of experience as an Optometrist. He has worked in a variety of settings and practices throughout country Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory. He is qualified to prescribe ocular medications to treat various conditions such as conjunctivitis, eye allergies, iritis and glaucoma. Nadia Toprak has years of experience in the fashion and cosmetics industry, making her a perfect fit for the discerning fashion needs of our patients (see our team).
Technology plays a crucial role at Somer Toprak Optometrist. It was important from the outset to be up to date and invest in the latest imaging and diagnostic equipment. This helps to detect evidence of eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration and can also detect ocular signs of general disease such as diabetes and high blood pressure. On the product front, their Rodenstock lenses are technologically advanced and require sub-millimetre precision which is achieved by their new frame and lens measuring technology, the ImpressionIST 3.
In addition to becoming an important part of eye and health care in the community, Somer Toprak Optometrist plans to deliver high quality eye care and quality products and support well into the future.
